A New Directory For Locating Quality DoFollow Blogs

October 10, 2011 | By Adrienne Smith

A New Directory For Locating Quality DoFollow BlogsIf you are a blogger than you know how important it is to comment on other blogs.  If you have a brand new blog then it’s the best way to start bringing more attention to your new one and over time your readership will continue to grow.

Finding high quality blogs in your niche to comment on is the key.  You can always start by searching on Google for relevant blogs or do a search for blog directories where other people have listed their blogs for free.

The only problem I have found with blog directories is the lack of quality blogs on those sites.  I know when I was searching for blogs to comment on, the majority of them listed in these types of directories haven’t been updated in ages.

Introducing YouDoFollow

Look no further my friends, a new directory for locating quality dofollow blogs is finally here.  I am thrilled to introduce to you YouDoFollow.com.

We have none other than Christian Hollingsworth of SmartBoyDesigns.com to thank for this.  Christian is the creator of this dofollow blog directory.

The great thing about Christian’s new site is that you can submit a link for free and Christian will manually approve each blog after he has personally reviewed it to see if it meets all of his requirements.  That’s a win/win for us because this is a great way to get not only your blog listed but a great way to locate new dofollow blogs as well.

He recently wrote a post introducing his new directory to all his readers so you can learn more about what he expects from each blog before approving it for his new site.  Be sure and read “DoFollow Blogs for Bloggers.”

DoFollow Blogs

For those of you who are fairly new to the blogging scene and aren’t that familiar with what dofollow and nofollow is all about, I wrote a post back in February explaining exactly what all of this means and how it affects you.

If you would like to read up on that post, feel free to read “Are You A DoFollow Blog???” I’m sure you’ll find it quite helpful.

Sign Up Today

Be sure and get your blog listed today on Christian’s site and if there are other categories that you feel are needed, just let him know.  I have a feeling this will be one of the better blog directories online today and a great way for you to get your blog the attention it deserves.

Have you had bad experiences with blog directories in the past?  Are you still searching for dofollow blogs of higher quality to start commenting on?  Would love to hear your thoughts on this subject.

Until then, I wish you all well and happy blogging!

Hi Adrienne

Just quickly popped over to have a look see at Christian’s new site “YouDoFollow.com” as well as his blog post… where do I sign up! :) I have submitted my URL and now awaiting approval.

I think this site as you say could well prove to be one of the better Blog Directories online.

In the past I have searched high and low for decent blog directories and to be honest some of the blogs on the sites are so out-dated it makes you wonder whether it’s worth leaving a comment at all!

However I am really pleased now though; like you I do follow some great blogs now that are packed full of great content and information and I have managed to build good relationships with all of them.

It is so rewarding when you can find blogs where you can interact, and share a common goal with like-minded people.

And your blog Adrienne is right at the top of my list! ;)

Take care, catch up soon

Ian :)

Hey Ian,

That’s great that you have signed up already. Christian is going to be very strict with this site and keep a handle on it as well. He mentioned in one of his comments on his post when someone told him it was a lot of work to keep up a directory such as this. Can you believe it but he actually enjoys doing that! That’s why I have a feeling this one will definitely be one of the better ones. At least if you do want to locate other blogs in a specific niche, this will be a wonderful resource for that.

I know I never had any luck finding quality blogs on these directories and the ones that were quality haven’t been updated in quite awhile. Like many bloggers, they just move on to other things and stop blogging.

Thank you Ian for your kind words, they are very much appreciated!

You have a wonderful week okay!

I guess I enjoy the process, as it gives me the opportunity to become a little more intimate with more blogs out in the public. When I visit a blog I often check out the about page, look at the design, analyze the brand and enjoy the “feeling” I get on a whole. Doing so teaches me a lot about people and what they’re all about.

I’m happy to work with the bloggers too. I’m surprised by how many submissions there are already, and equally surprised by how many aren’t actually dofollow, when the bloggers thought there blog was. So I’m putting together posts to help them “convert” and moving them along the process. In the end, we’ll have more blogs on the internet that are “truly” Dofollow.

We’ve got our work cut out for us!

That’s wonderful Christian and I know I appreciate you putting this site together. I know a lot of people will find this resource extremely helpful for them.

I’ve spoken with a few people and there are so many things people don’t know when creating their blog for the first time. Like you have to actually implement the dofollow feature, it’s not automatically that way. I’m sure your post will be extremely helpful as well. I wrote about it here earlier this year so I’m sure a lot of people missed that one.

You definitely have your work cut out for you and I hope I’ve sent your way some really great blogs! Thanks for all you do Christian!

Thank you for your support, Ian. Your blog should be approved and listed. The mobile version of the site is now available too, so everything should be working smoothly on a nice design for iPads, iPhones and Blackberry devices.

I think any blog that is dofollow, at least most, almost is a sign that you’re going to easily find a way to build a relationship with the blogger. When a blog is dofollow, I often see a blog and author that cares. It’s a great community to be a part of. Full of support and love.

Excited to get to know you better.
Have a wonderful day,
Christian

Adrienne,

I like the idea of a dofollow blog directory and also one that will have good blogs on it.

I have registered with a lot of directories but have not really found many blogs on them.

Thanks for the information and I am going over to Christian Hollingsworth’s blog to get more information.

I’ve been able to work closely with those who developed the directory script, so it’s been a more peaceful process than originally expected. Getting all those categories in there, and making choices on what needed to be included was probably the most consuming. The response I’m receiving and suggestions so far have been phenomenal. I’m appreciative of all the feedback.

Hey Dia,

So glad I’m able to help you in some small way Dia. :-)

I know that for people who are in a niche other than internet marketing, affiliate marketing, network marketing or social media marketing that they may sometimes have difficulty locating other quality dofollow blogs to comment on. I’m hoping that Christian will be able to really help in that respect with his new site.

My pleasure Dia and have a wonderful day! :-)

I love that those involved in social media and marketing just seem to “get” relationships and how they work. We dry on the vine without conversations and supporting one another.

I appreciate you, and I appreciate Adrienne for featuring the directory. She’s a delightful “sharer.”

It is funny you brought this up. When you read my post today, you’ll find me complaining about one of those Do Follow Blogs directories. I signed up in one of those about one year ago. I was looking for more comments and I ended up getting a lot of spam. But I guess this one is different. I can use it to find other blogs and build relationships. I believe many quality blogs will be listed there. I am in!

Hey Mouh,

Ah, our minds are thinking alike regarding the topic of our posts. I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad experience with some of those directories. I definitely know what you mean.

You can end up receiving a lot of spam from other blogs but if you do locate a higher quality directory then you can find it very beneficial. I think we are always going to have to fight spam unfortunately. That’s just a part of blogging.

I have no doubt Christian will keep a better handle on his. Will see you soon Mouh! :-)

That’s a concern I think we all have. Spam. I think it all comes down to your “policy” too. Will you allow little “Good post!” comments, or not? Will you delete them? Or let them concern you? I for one, and I know Adrienne too, decide to just get rid of them quick and move on. They’re not adding to the conversation and you can “feel” they’re just spamming.

I know those looking to build their blogs quickly will probably comment spam any dofollow blog (they do so to mine rather rampantly), but good spam protection really, really cuts down on the problem. GASP and Akismet keep hundreds of spam comments out of my blog daily. I only get maybe one or two that sneak through into the spam folder every once in a while. It’s not too shabby.

I’m keeping it as clean as I possibly can. If dofollow isn’t enabled, I give the blogger a “chance” by sending an email letting them know their blog isn’t listed as dofollow – and to let me know when it is, and I’d be happy to approve.

Many didn’t even realize their plugin wasn’t working, or wasn’t enabling dofollow. A great way to slowly “clean up” the web. ;)

Hi Adrienne, Christian’s a dark horse isn’t he….. The last I heared he was having a month off to try and improve his health and write a novel. Surely that month hasn’t passed already, I ask scratching my head :)

What a great idea he’s had with putting this together, although I think he’s added a great deal to his work load. No doubt he’s got that end covered though, he’s a smart cookie ;) We’ve spoke about Christian before Adrienne and he really is an inspiration, I wish there were young ones more like him.

I have of course been over there, submitted my details and will make full use of the directory.

Have a great week Adrienne,

Hey Barry,

He’s actually vacationing right now but Christian never really takes time off. He’s got his trusty laptop with him and can’t help himself. But he does have his priorities straight and his health does come first. At the same time, he’s always eager to help us bloggers out.

I’m with you, this project sounds like a lot of hard work. Having to approve each blog and visit them on a regular basis to make sure they are keeping up to his standards. But what he’s mentioned is that he actually enjoys doing that so all the more power to him. There’s no way I would take on that task.

Thank you Barry and I have a feeling that Christian will have a winning site on his hands now.

Have a great week as well my friend. I know I will! :-)

I was ill today, and I certainly calmed down on the work load. Spent the day asleep or resting. You might have noticed I wasn’t even around until catching up at the current moment. :)

You too are too kind. I’ve just been blessed. I have a great family, been able to put myself in special circumstances, and I’m always surrounded by people who give me 110% support. I can’t take credit for much of my life at all.

I’m still coming up with a “design” for how I handle those who aren’t dofollow. At the moment, I’m emailing them, asking them to recheck their dofollow settings, but I’m sure it will come to the point where I’ll have to just to unapprove and forget about it. We’ll see how intensive it becomes to help hundreds of bloggers convert to dofollow. That could easily be a lot of emails. ;)

But at the moment, know I’m doing my best to help everyone along. It’s sure exciting to find new blogs to comment on, and also let your own blog be found rather quickly. This is going to rock!

And no, I don’t do anything I don’t think is worthwhile. If I don’t think it’s worthwhile, I can actually become rather lazy. lol

This looks great. I just turned do follow on. My web guy may get upset with me. He was in the camp that allowing do follow links in comments would do more harm than good, but the people who comment on my site have trustworthy sites themselves so I don’t see how it will hurt us.

Plus Matt said, “In the same way that Google trusts sites less when they link to spammy sites or bad neighborhoods, parts of our system encourage links to good sites.”

Thanks for the heads up and for giving us an opportunity to be some of the first in this new community.

Hey Bryce,

Turning your blog to a dofollow will benefit you in so many ways. I would think you are checking each comment that comes in anyway. By just not allowing spammy comments or ones that is pretty obvious they are just there for the link juice through, you will be just fine. I know a lot of people comment for the links but the ones here for the right reasons will stick around and build relationships with you so it’s a win/win situation to me.

If you are searching for new blogs in your niche, I have a feeling Christian’s site will be very helpful.

It took me a long time to decide upon an appropriate way to balance dofollow and nofollow links. As of now, on my blog, CommentLuv links to blog posts are dofollow, and author names are nofollow. This helps to protect myself from the hundreds of spam comments from previous blog posts I would now consider “spam” but also allow Dofollow for bloggers.

A majority of spammers don’t use CommentLuv when they post anyways, but the bloggers you WANT to give link juice to will.

Just a thought that might work in your situation too. Thank you for your support. I really, really appreciate it.

Thanks Christian,

Not even a day after making it do follow spammers already shot to the blog to take advantage of their names linking back.

Do you know how to make the change you suggested. It looks like you need to change the code. Do you have something I can just copy and paste in the box to change that?

Thanks,

I sure wish when I started blogging, I dove right into commenting on top blogs. Within a month I could have been driving tons of traffic. That’s exactly what you’ll be able to do with this directory. Jump into the discussion (with quality comments of course) and get connected with grand bloggers. Those will dofollow enabled are generally very decent people. ;)

And in no time, your blog will be soaring through the traffic charts, your message will be spread further – and your life will be benefited from knowing more people like Adrienne. Although, Adrienne is one of a kind. ;)

I believe it’s very important that Christian is manually approving the blogs, this way we can trust that the blogs are of high quality and that we’re not just waisting our time :)

It’s been a while since I’ve been to any blog directory, I think blog catalog was the last one I visited, and that feels like years ago. It’s great that we can finally have one we can trust.

I’ve used a lot of directories in the past but as most people will find, there are a lot of spammy blogs there as well as inactive blogs. So in the end, it really never did any good. As soon as I hit publish, I am going over to list my blog as I have not done so. Knowing Christian, this directory and what grows out of it will be amazing.

If ever there was a time to take prompt action and get in from the start, this is it!

Best wishes for a week filled with everything wonderful. Aloha. Janet

Kicked you off Bill? Now I know you’re pulling my leg! Christian is just too nice to do that to you! :-)

I do think that this directory will be very helpful, especially for those just started out who are really eager to locate some helpful and useful content. Whether they get accepted since they are new, doesn’t mean they can’t take advantage of visiting the blogs that are signed up. It will just be a matter of time from there.

Hope you make the list this time Bill! That would be a shame! lol… ;-)

This is great Adrienne. :)

Well, I just submitted a link and I am now awaiting approval. Since I know Christian I feel totally comfortable submitting my site and I think that it is great that he came up with this service.

I did an experiment about 2 months ago by making my blog no follow. About a week or so ago I mad it do follow again. I wanted to see what happens to traffic when it is do follow vs no follow. I will keep it do follow though.

Thanks Justin, glad you submitted your blog as well. I believe Christian is going to have his hands full don’t you agree?

Was there a big change in traffic or comments when you switched it to nofollow? I know that most people prefer visiting dofollow blogs not only for the link juice but for the information as well. For me though, even if you do have a nofollow blog and I like your content, I’m going to keep coming back anyway. I mean look at Fred! I found him at your place and have been visiting him ever since knowing full well his is a nofollow blog. Sometimes the information is just too good to pass up. :-)

From checking Google Analytics it seems as though I am getting more visits from referring sites than search engines since changing it back to do follow.

When it was no follow I was getting more visits from search engines than referring sites.

The reason I changed it back to do follow was to see if I would get traffic from the content in the comments. I am still waiting to see.

What an excellent idea! If anyone was going to come up with this innovative new directory, it’d be Christian, eh? =) It’s so great to have a directory personally monitored by a blogger that I truly respect.

I so know what you mean about the lower quality found in blog directories. It’s hard to find value in a blog directory when I come upon so many bloggers who don’t put in the effort or time.

Thanks so much for letting me know about Christian’s directory, Adrienne! =) Can’t wait to head over there and sign up. =)

Glad you are going to sign up as well Samantha. Your blog definitely needs to be on that list.

Hey Adrienne, how are you? Thanks so much for the hot tip on your friend Christian. What a firecracking fellow!

It is very nice to comment on do follow blogs for sure. To be honest, I am not always as bothered about it if I enjoy the blog… OR for my personal site… but as you say being an affiliate I like to be able to comment on blogs that are interested in a similar genre as mine and of course it’s a bonus to get a do follow link.

I have had Comment Luv for some time now but recently bought the upgrade so my affiliate sites will also be do follow and I can reciprocate.

Thanks so much Adrienne. I appreciate it it very much.

PS: would you mind refreshing me as to your affiliate blog again… I do remember you started it a while back and though I do have a good memory… its very short. :-)

Thanks so much. I love coming over to see you.

Hi Jayne,

I’m doing great, how the heck are you? Keeping busy I’m sure! Kids back in school now?

Christian has SO much going, he wears me out hearing what he’s up to. Of course right now, he’s away for a month. Having a good time but doing a little work too!

I’m with you, I’ll comment no matter what they are but when you are trying to build up readership it helps if they are a dofollow blog. I’m sure with all the categories that he’s adding, it’s really going to be very helpful for a lot of people. I have one friend who would like to start a blog and she’s really outdoorsy. So she would love to find a place to connect with others in that category so I’m hoping Christian’s directory will benefit a lot of different niches.

Glad you found this one helpful Jayne…

No problem but I’m not blogging over there any longer. All my content is still up and I continue to answer comments. If you need to know anything just send me a note. I will respond. That site is http://www.newsuperaffiliateblog.com/.

Hi Jimmy,

That’s right, just because you put up a blog doesn’t mean that it’s automatically a dofollow. There is a WordPress plug-in that will do just that. You can download it at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sem-dofollow/.

Hope that helps.

Hey Jimmy,

There isn’t anything that you need to setup or do after installation. What it does is removes the nofollow attribute from your WordPress blog. You install that plug-in, you’re ready to go.

Thanks Jimmy.. Bryce is a great candidate for an interview as well. Will look forward to reading that one too.

Thanks for the information on Christian’s latest project, I have certainly seen my fair share of directories in my time and most no longer are resident in my browser bookmarks.

Blogging is about building a community around the passion in your posts, now that Christian is giving us a hub to meet and share our ideas it is up to us to protect each other and this great idea. I am sure it will be targeted by spammers and tricksters but if we work together we can make this a mutual success for all of us.

Hi Igor,

You are very welcome and I’m with you. I’ve seen my fair share of blog directories and I must admit, the outcome was not good. I also know that as bloggers, we will continue to be hit with spam but as long as we take control within our own blog, then we can keep it at the level it needs to remain.

Christian has given us a resource to locate other quality blogs within our niche that we may not be aware of yet. We all know that people create blogs with the best of intentions only to let them fall by the wayside six months later. At least we can continue to locate ones that are in this for the long haul.

Thanks Igor for your comment, it’s always appreciated! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

When I was first starting out I did register my blog in a lot of the free directories. Just going through some of them though, I was overwhelmed at the number that were also on their lists. Some of those directories said that they checked the blogs before approving but I still found a lot of junk on those sites. Hopefully Christian will have a better handle on this one. Hi Adrienne and Christain,
I’ve never really been comforable with any type of Blog directory. They tend to be outdated and hard to navigate and it’s hard to see the forest for the Google Adsense Ads.

When I look at all the Page-rank directories, I get the same feeling. I’m not interested in anything to link to or rank with that has postings by Admin. If I can’t see content which is at least 90 days young and has been posted by Adrienne or Christain or “I Care About Something Other Than Adsense” then I have no interest what-so-ever!!!

I’ve got this thory that I’m working with here …….. mainly motivated my Miss Smith. I actually feel good about coming to her Blog. I know that I will find someone who is attentive to my goals, dreams, and desires as they pretain to Blogging. I find new information to work with ……. I find someone at work. I can easily find her when she is away from her desk. She’s real …… she’s funny ……. she’s warm ………. that my friends, is exactly the market that I am targeting and looking to network with; not some SEO funk ………. Please!!!

Christain …….. think ……… provide us with a directory that links to “Bloggers” not “Blogs”!!!!!

Hey Jeffrey,

Great point and I have a feeling that is exactly what Christian is trying to accomplish. Of course I can always let him speak for himself but what I have found about Christian is that he’s a lot like me. He’s real, funny, warm and always eager to help. Very approachable and easy to talk to. Now are all the people behind all the quality blogs going to be the same way? I doubt it but I must admit that the majority of blogs that I have been visiting, the people behind them are those kinds of people.

Are you trying to score points with me Mr. Morgan because you’re doing an awfully great job of it. So many nice things you’ve said about me. I’m so touched and you made me blush. But I have also learned that even though you hide behind that silly avatar, you’re a big softy too. You just have different experiences online then some of us but your heart is in the right place as well. You are here for the right reasons as well.

You know I appreciate it when you stop by and share your thoughts with me. I always enjoy hearing what you have to say. Have a great day my friend. :-)

Here’s a question I’d like to throw out into the public for discussion. With the new YouDoFollow blog directory, it seems like most of the spam is coming from Blogspot and WordPress blogs.

What are your thoughts on only allowing approval for blogs that have their own domain name? I’d still be willing to accept a Blogspot/WordPress based blog, but only if they had their own domain name.

For example, myblogname.com versus myblogname.blogspot.com.

I’m thinking this might be the best way to go about handling the directory, and whether or not everyone agrees, this might be the direction I will go. Owning a domain name means you’re serious about blogging and establishing a brand, and helps to cut out some of spam I’ve been getting.

Just a thought.

Well here are my thoughts on that.

Your intention is to build a site that provides quality dofollow blogs so that others can locate great blogs to visit, learn from and leave their comments right. I’m the first person to say that I feel for those who have the free platforms because at least they are here and have taken action to start taking their business in the right direction. They just might not be able to afford everything at the moment. It’s those who aren’t invested enough in themselves to get their own domain and host their own blogs who maybe shouldn’t be in your directory.

Now I’m talking the majority here and as we both know, Bill Dorman has a free platform although he does have his own domain. He’s also not here to build a business but he is a nice contributor in the blogosphere. I guess you would have to be the judge of that when it’s push come to shove.

Usually people who are new haven’t learned the right things to do so I sympathize with where they are knowledge wise but for those who do enjoy the blackhat tactics, they definitely shouldn’t pass go.

Those are my thoughts at least. That would be a hard call to make Mr. Hollingsworth.

Thank you for the thoughts. I appreciate it. There’s such a divide! Some of my most favorite (and thoughtful) blogs are hosted on Blogspot domains. I think, at the moment, what I’ll be doing is just making a judgement call. No definitive rule, but certainly keep the spam out.

I know what you mean because there are some blogs that are on Blogspot, yet have their own domain, and are here for the right reasons. So I think you are going to have to play that one by ear as they come along. If you know them personally and have been to them then let them through. If not, I’d tip toe a little more lightly with those. Just as long as you can keep the spam out, you’ve done your job.

Hey Warren,

Glad you found this helpful and hopefully you’ll get your blog listed with Christian’s site as well.

Oh darn it, sorry I missed that webinar. I bet it’s a good one, anything that they put out I would assume would be. Sorry I didn’t get over here in time. Let me know what you learned. :-)

The host is actually struggling a little. Partly because of the questions coming in. The audience doesn’t quite seem to get what’s being covered so they are going back quite a bit.

Hey Adrienne,
Thank you very much for sharing this with us and also congratulations to Christian for the idea.
It’s great to have a place where you can find great people, blogs and tons of free knowledge and valuable advice.
I found other blog directories in the past but I didn’t focus on them too much. Yet, youdofollow seems a great project and deserve our attention.
Regarding other blogs, yes I’m continually searching for new ways to build new relationships with experienced bloggers and learn from them.
Adrienne thank you one more time. You always find fresh and quality advice to share with us.
No wonder your blog is a powerful magnet for people. Only the number of comments on this post confirm what I just said.

Keep up the great work:)
Best,
Radu

Hey Radu,

You are so welcome, it was my pleasure to spread the word about Christian’s new site. I probably wouldn’t have taken the time to do that had it not been Christian behind this. I know he will do his best to only allow quality blogs but I know it will also be a lot of work on his part. I have no doubt you’ll be able to find plenty of new great blogs to comment on.

My pleasure Radu and I’m thrilled that you find my content helpful. I love hearing that so thank you!

You have a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend okay!

I love the concept of only having dofollow blogs in the directory, this gives the users the chance to find good solid blogs.
Just hope that mine gets approved. ;)

I just wished that I came up with the idea on one of my own directories, because it a super idea.! :D

Hi Jimmy,

There are lists I’ve done previously as well of a lot of the blogs that I have visited on a regular basis and those that Ana Hoffman put together of blogs that have the CommentLuv plug-in. But that doesn’t necessarily mean they are all dofollow. I applaud Christian for this idea as well and you know there is always room for more than one directory like this if you are willing to create one yourself! :-)

Thanks for your input and appreciate your comment.

I’m actually thinking about doing it, because I’ve coded my own link directory software so it’s easy to set up.
But it also means more work. ;)

But I’ll let you know what I end up with.

Have a great weekend

That’s what I was thinking Jimmy, it’s a lot of work. Especially if you really have to approve each blog so that you don’t get a lot of spammers on there. That’s what will make Christian’s blog stand out, only quality blogs are allowed. Those really here for the purpose of adding value and building relationships. Please do let me know if you decide to go that route!

Best of luck to you! ;-)

Great job, Christian,

This is something that bloggers need and am really glad you came up with this brilliant idea!

When I first started, I had a friend of mine submit to a ton of blog directories, but where did it get us? Not very far and a LOT of spammers :(

So, this is brilliant – Adrienne, thanks for pointing this out. I’ve been slacking once again *sigh*, but hopefully something will shine a light my way for my next post ;-)

Hope you are doing well!

Hope to see you back to a more regular routine. Best of luck to you Linda! :-)

Hi Dee Ann,

I do believe this will be one of the better ones, that’s for sure. He’s going to be very strict with who he lets in so I’ll keep my fingers crossed he can keep up with it all. It know it’s going to be difficult to do over time with the way people abandon their blogs or possibly take a different approach. Overall though, I know if anyone can do it, Christian can.

Thanks Dee Ann and glad you are getting signed up!

Looking forward to trying YouDoFollow and have just submitted my blog–

Very nice, Adrienne. I had no idea about this directory. It’s even better knowing that it’s from Christian Hollingsworth! I’ll have to stop on over there.

Like you, when I was just getting started, I kept searching for quality blogs to visit in my niche, and didn’t have much success through directories. So, I ended up Googling them instead or finding them through word of mouth. I’m glad there’s finally a quality directory out there. What a great idea. Thanks, Adrienne!

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.

Hi Adrienne,

It is Lenia again. I am reading a couple of your articles. I find extremely useful information in your posts, interesting links and I learn many things…I have a lot to do in order to improve my blogging and my sites.
In this article you mention that some blog directories don’t contain many good quality blogs.
On the other hand in you recent post “My Secret To Blogging Success” you advise us to submit our blog to blog directories and you provide a big list of blog directories.

I am wondering if we need to submit in all these blog directories or just some of them (those that we think they contain good quality blogs) ?
Another question I have is the following: Do we have to do manually the submission in the blog directories. I know that this process is very time consuming and I am wondering if there is a tool to do that.
I would be grateful to have your advice on that because sometimes it is not good to use tools (they can penalize our site).

Thank you for the great information you provide here.

Hi Lenia,

So glad you have checked out these other posts. I’m sure you’ve found them helpful with what you are trying to accomplish.

That’s right, there are a lot of bloggers out there that are trying to do things the easy way so they aren’t providing good quality content. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t submit your blog to the directories because it will help it get noticed by a lot more people and services.

There are some tools that will do this for you but I just suggest maybe submitting your blog to like the top ten directories and leave it at that. If your blog is a dofollow blog, be sure and visit Christian’s site because he’s only approving top quality blogs. I wouldn’t suggest using a tool to do this.

The initial stages of setting everything up is time consuming but the good thing is that you only have to do it once. Yey!

Hope that helped Lenia and be sure and enjoy your day.

Hi Adrienne,

When I first started my blog I manually disabled the NF attributes in the HTML and my blog became DF. Oddly however it reverted back to NF and since then it doesn’t matter what I do it stays NF. I’ve asked the question on the Blogger site and posted questions elsewhere but I figure that no-one has spotted that Blogger has obviously made a change. However in case someone knows how to switch it on again and reads this post, please do get in contact via my linked blog!!

Well that sucks Roz, pardon my French!!! With WordPress, if you don’t have the CommentLuv Premium plug-in then you have to get the “DoFollow plug-in” in order to make it a Dofollow blog. It’s not automatic but for Google to change that on all Blogger blogs, huh! That would tick me off for sure.

Hopefully someone will read this comment and help you. Sorry to hear you continue to have that trouble. Hope it can get resolved.

It does suck Adrienne, I feel really upset that I can’t give you or anyone else a link that counts back to their blog anymore.

But I’m excited about having a new blog and I love commentluv premium so that’s what I’d have I’m pretty sure.

Oh yeah, I love CommentLuv Premium and that one plug-in has so much to offer. You can cut down on a lot of different plug-ins just with that one and make your blog a dofollow. I just love WordPress… :-)

Hi Karen,

Well I’m glad you continue to learn but I don’t think Christian’s site is up any longer. That’s why I removed the links. You’ll have to let me know though because I see there is now a site connected to this domain but as I was going through my regular process of checking for broken links, his came up and the domain was up for sale.

Putting your links into directories is a good way to get your site noticed. You definitely don’t have to do every single one but it’s a great place for people to find you.

Thanks Karen and I’m glad we have archives too.

Have a great day.
