Are You Making Any Money Online Yet?

by Adrienne Smith on February 25, 2011

Are You Making Any Money Online Yet? I wanted to do this post because I just celebrated my 3 month anniversary with my “New Super Affiliate” product that I recently created and have been sharing how this journey has been so far on my “New Super Affiliate Blog“.

When I first got online I was all over the place.  Like many who are just starting out, I was in information overload and then some.  Way too much information to process and I was heading in no specific direction.  I would take bits and pieces of what I was learning and then start applying it.

I finally started making some money but it didn’t last too terribly long only because the way I was generating this income, that particular source stopped.  Ever hear the saying, “don’t put all your eggs in one basket”!  Well, boy is that ever true.

So, I joined the “Forward to Marketing” training community last November and have been religiously learning from Mr. Alex Jeffery’s himself.  Yep, he’s another successful top income earner but what I admire about this particular training community is that he is taking us through every single step we need to take in order to build a successful affiliate marketing business.

Now I’m not really all that big on the “gurus” myself guys so don’t worry, I’m not trying to promote his training community.  Mainly because it’s been closed for months now.  But what I do want to share with you is my particular story.

If you have come online to build a business then my question to you is “are you making any money online yet”?  You see, so many people have come to the internet to find some way to start making some money.  Whether their intention is to make some extra income or build it to the point that they can support their families.  People are struggling in today’s economy to locate another source of income.  What better place than the internet!

But most people get here and like me, they immediately go into information overload.  I mean you are so excited to start learning some things and the majority of the information you locate makes it sound all so easy to do am I right!  But then the more you read, the more confused you become and the more you are back to square one.

You’ve spend so much money on information and you are no further along than when you started.  I can sympathize with you because I’ve been there and I’ve failed many times.  But not any more.  Those days are behind me.

You can build a business from scratch and start making money.  It will take some time and you won’t see any influx in cash pouring into your PayPal account no matter what the reports or eBooks have said.  It does take time but let’s face it.  Each day we have to do something to move forward in our business right!  So why not learn the right things to do and start implementing those and then watch the results yourself.

I’m thrilled to report that as of 3 months, I have had over 941 visits to my sites, I’ve had 267 blog comments on my posts and I have made $155.  Oh, and my product only costs $27 so I would have to say that’s not too shabby.  Now we are learning the next major step in order to catapult those results even more so I’m excited about what’s to come.

Are you interested in learning how I’m doing this?  Would you like to follow my journey as I blog about what I am learning and how I’m driving traffic to my site?  If so, please be sure to visit my “New Super Affiliate Blog” and grab my FREE marketing system that will start you in the right direction.

Be sure to leave me comments and ask me any questions you may have.  I know this journey can be a long and hard road for many but you don’t have to do this alone.  There is help and there are people who will put forth that extra effort to help you as you learn.  I would be honored if you would let that person be me.

I hope to see you there!  Here is to your success…

Hi Adrienne
Very interesting that your new blog is 3 month old. I started my own blog in late November 2010 so that is about 3 month ago as well. I am not making any money on it but that is mainly because I am not trying. Don’t know if I ever will, but as long that I only have about 30-35 visitors a day it doesn’t make any sense.

I have a question for you. If you should start a new blog today and wanted to start building traffic what would you be doing for a start and in which order? I mean what is most important for a new blog: making a twitter account, writing a lot of great posts, starting a Facebook page, commenting on other blog, guest blog or where would you start?

Hey Thomas,

Thanks for stopping by and always enjoy seeing new faces.

Because this 3 month old blog is a journey of my progress with building a business, I only blog once a week. Most people recommend blogging every day or at least 3 times a week if it’s new. So not sure how often you are writing content but that’s something to consider. So blog posts are a necessity and providing helpful and insightful information is what will draw people to your blog.

Because I have a personal preference, I suggest writing articles and commenting on other people’s blogs to start with. Now the commenting may not necessarily lead to sales but other people who also comment on those blogs will see your information and follow your blog which is an added benefit. The Facebook Fan Page and Twitter accounts are important as well. As this post noted, I just now created my Fan Page so that’s not where I have been receiving my traffic. The majority of my traffic has been coming from the search engines (beause my content is spread all over the place), my articles and blog commenting. It’s picking up steam now because of all the content I have out there. Hope that helps some.

If you are having any problems in any of these areas, I have a free training site that will help you learn how to get started. Just go to my tab at the top of the page that says “Free Training” and opt-in. I think you’ll find some very helpful information there.

Thank you again for the comment and for taking the time to stop by. I’m always here if you need any assistance.

Best to you,

Thank you for your reply. I try to post a blog at least once a week maybe two. I also have a twitter profile and I am meeting a lot of people there, but I get almost no traffic from it yet. Search engine and leaving comments on blogs like yours is where I get most of my traffic. I think the main focus for me the next couple of week should be to write better and longer posts and to work with keyword optimization.

You are so welcome Thomas.

I have a suggestion for Twitter. Go read my post “My Twitter Revelations” and it may give you some ideas of how you can get more people to your blog. Also, using SEO with your blog posts will get more traffic as well. It’s something I don’t really do that much with my blog but I do with my articles. I post my blog posts on my twitter and FB accounts as well as LinkedIn, FriendsFeed and Yahoo profile. So I continue to spread my stuff in more social networking communities.

Can’t wait to hear how things start working for you and good luck.

Adrienne first off, congrats on your proof of concept: this stuff works! So you’ve started a site from scratch, drove traffic, and converted some visitors to buyers. That’s awesome to see someone making it happen.

Also, for anyone reading this I can attest to seeing Adrienne’s content elsewhere. She’s put a lot of work on her other site “New Super Affiliate Blog” and I’ve seen her thoughtful blog comments spread out across numerous sites. She doesn’t make it hard to find her if you’re in the same space.

So if you want comments, traffic, and some attention get out there and mix it up with people on other sites. I too have found blog commenting beneficial.

Congratulations on your success and your three months.

I am a content writer and never really thought of blogging to self-promote so to speak.

Thank you for the idea and I look forward to checking in here again from time to time. Nice article!

Thank you for stopping by Jane and it’s always nice to see new faces.

Blogging is a great way to get not only yourself out there, but to share with others a little about who you are and what you have to offer. It’s an awesome way to connect with other individuals who may be looking for what you have to offer. By connecting with you on a personal level, this is the best way to get new clients. You ought to give it a go.

Thanks again for the comment and hope you are having a wonderful day!

Congratulations on the beginnings towards online success. Making money online is so much harder than people think.

Like you said, information overload is a huge problem and I have fallen victin to it as well. I had never heard of Alex Jeffery, but will check out his stuff.

Hey Steve,

Welcome to my blog and thank you for your comment. Online success is always a work in progress but as long as you take the necessary steps and stay on course, it can be accomplished. I love helping people understand this and share just how you can get this done. I hate to see people struggle.

I had heard of Alex from time to time but until the end of last year didn’t really look into what he did or offered. I must say, I’m very impressed with what I am learning from him and I continue to learn new things each day. He has 2 training communities but the one I’m in has been closed since last year. I can see where they would be very time consuming for him.

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll be sure to check out your site.

Hi Adrienne,

Congrats on finding your focus and going for it! It sounds like you now have a sense of purpose and you’re going forward at a tremendous pace. You didn’t just listen to what Alex had to say, you took action.

I’ve read some of Alex’s stuff and exchanged a few emails (way back before he was somebody) and I’ve heard he packs massive amounts of information into his coaching/mentoring classes.

The sky is the limit for you, Adrienne. :)

Hi Peggy,

Thank you for that and yes, I have found my purpose. I am moving full steam ahead and enjoying every minute of it. I have definitely been putting into action what Alex is teaching us and although I haven’t done every single thing, it’s only because a little of it is still over my head or I’ve had problems when some of the site information he’s given us. You know, downloading files, getting the coding correct, that type of stuff. But I continue to learn new things every day and I’m loving it.

The sky is the limit for sure… Thank you so much for stopping by again and it’s always nice to see your smiling face.
