Saying Goodbye to 2014 EarlyI guess last year around this time kind of spoiled me so I’ve decided to do it again.

If you’re a new reader of mine then you’re already confused but don’t worry, I’ll clear this up very quickly.

Up until last year I never missed a post on this blog and it turned five years old this past June.  I was very proud of that fact in all honesty because I’ve blogged through the good times and the bad.

In my early days I posted three times a week then around the summer of 2011 I backed down to only posting twice a week.  I’ve kept this schedule religiously until this past October when I went down to only posting once a week.  I needed the time time to finish the product I was creating.

In July though, my best friend passed away as most of you know and it really hit me hard.  He was so full of life and he loved loved loved the holidays.

As Thanksgiving approached my spirit started sinking.  By the time December had arrived I was in the worst funk of my life.  That’s when I decided to take a couple weeks off because my heart was just not in it.

I was still grieving and missing him every single moment of every single day.  The holidays ended up being very hard on me but as we all know, life goes on.

Everyone Needs A Vacation

I don’t give myself enough time off do you?  Are you good about taking a break and just enjoying life outside of our blogs?

Now most people will come back and say “gosh Adrienne, I love blogging and the relationships I’ve formed online”.

At times some people, though I’m sure not intentionally, have made me feel SO guilty for wanting to step away from my blog and do something else.

Because I’m SO dedicated to my readers and I want to be there for them when they need me and help them every chance I get, even when I step away I’m still usually around.

It’s hard to just not get online each day and the next thing you know I’m off responding to comments or checking out someone’s blog and not focusing my time on what I had said I wanted to do which was the whole reason I took off in the first place.

Even though I’ll be taking some time off this holiday season and not publishing any posts here for a couple of weeks, I have things I want to accomplish during this time so I’m going to try my best to not veer off from that.

What’s On The Agenda

I have some things on my list that I need to do both online and offline.

If you’re on my list then you learned that on December 8th I woke up to it raining in my closet which flooded that area as well as the area in front of my vanity.  It was starting to creep into my bedroom by the time the plumber finally clamped it off.

So now I have no carpet in that area because I ripped it up.  I’ve now got to get a new floor and I really really really hate to shop.  Right now I’m walking on concrete so it has to be done and I can’t do it while I’m sitting on this computer.

I promised Ryan Biddulph that I would write a review for his first eBook and I have not done that yet.  I also haven’t read his second one and I told him I’d do that as well.

With my head down this year working on my own product I have not had time to follow through on that promise I made him and I always fulfill my promises.

I have a guest post I need to write for next month and some interviews I promised a few people.

I have a few things on my list for the coming year that I need to step up on and I have some research to do pertaining to that.  Let’s just say I have a few traffic sources up my sleeve that I want to incorporate this coming year and I have to go in search of the right ones for me.

I have a few things I need to do with my blog, some behind the scenes things and we all know everything I’ve listed here takes time.

On top of that of course we have the holidays to celebrate and that means spending time with family and friends.

Shout Out To My Awesome Community

The last post I wrote back in December of 2012 highlighted 20 loyal bloggers.  Some had been with me since 2011 while others I had just met that year.

Out of that list two have abandoned their blogs which was very sad to see happen.  Ilka is busy building her network marketing business and she’s doing very well while Sonia’s offline work unfortunately had her running around in circles.

From that list which was two years ago there are only six bloggers who still visit my blog faithfully and are here as often as time will allow them.

I want to say a very special thank you to Carolyn Nicander Mohr, Dee Ann Rice, Harleena Singh, Sylviane Nuccio, Donna Merrill and Lisa Sicard (formerly Buben).

It’s rare for a blog to not only have regular returning faithful readers but ones that will stick with you and by you for years.

That’s what I’ve been able to create here at AdrienneSmith.net and I couldn’t be prouder.

Besides these six amazing ladies, I have many more people to thank.  Do you know that I keep an excel spreadsheet of all the people who visit my blog?

Listing all of you here today would be quite the chore but I sure hope you know who you are.  Each and every one of you hold a very special place in my heart.  Want to know why?

Because my blog would not be where it is today without YOU!  We can all crank out fabulous content that we think is better than anyone else’s but if no one reads it, comments on it or shares it then it’s going to just sit here being lonely and not able to help or benefit anyone.

My blog is where it is today because of you which is why you are so darn special to me.

I want you to know that and that I’m here for you.  You are part of my community so if I can help you in any way at all, feel free to reach out to me.  Whether you do that here in a comment or email me, I’ll always respond, it’s what I’m all about.

By the way, my email address is always listed right below my image at the bottom of every post so I never hide my contact information.
