As most of you are aware, Google Reader is closing up shop. As a matter of fact, if you haven’t found an alternative you have exactly seven more days. Google Reader says goodbye permanently on Monday, July 1st.
I’ve been reading so many posts on the alternatives and I’ve tried a few of them but unfortunately I didn’t care for the way they worked.
I like simple, I like organized and I loved Google Reader.
I was over at Bren’s site not long ago and she had fallen in love with Blog Lovin. I tested that one because I hadn’t seen it listed on a lot of posts I’d read. Unfortunately, I found it too confusing. I have to have simple guys or I get a headache.
I really didn’t want to go with yet another extension but I checked out so many of the other ones and I just didn’t like the way they worked.
So about a week ago I installed Feedly to check it out for myself. Most recommendations I had read said that it functioned the closest to Google Reader and I must admit it most definitely does.
Now for all of you who would like to see it in action, just check out the video that I’ve put together for you. Sonia had a hard time finding how you log back in so tada!!! I gotcha covered girl!
I’m not the expert on mobile devices but once again, Bren has that covered too so I’ll let her explain how you can easily share your blog post to any application from your cell. I know they support androids and I downloaded the app to my iPhone so the support those too!
If you’re still searching and Feedly isn’t for you then here are a few blog posts that might help you as you continue your search for the perfect RSS feed reader alternative.
Most of the reviews I’ve read have mentioned a lot of the same ones so I hope you find one that suits your needs. Would love to hear which one you went with and why so please be sure to share that with me in the comments below.
Oh and sharing this post with your friends is always appreciated. Maybe they’re still searching too!
