I contemplated on what to share since my last post of 2011 was pretty epic. I thought about doing a follow up like what still works and what doesn’t type thing but I decided against that. I’ll share with you in my first post of the new year why I decided not to go that route.
Most of you who have been visiting my blog for quite some time now already know my story. For those who don’t, my blog was a total disaster back when I started in June of 2009. Oh sure, my posts were informative but gosh were they boring. Traffic was pretty scarce and the comments were non existent.
It all changed for me at the end of 2010 when I became part of a program that taught me how to get myself out there. I admit having known most of what they shared but I was too afraid of actually taking those steps. I made myself a promise that I would do everything they told me to do whether I liked it or not. As you can probably tell by now, it worked.
By March of 2011 I started getting a decent amount of traffic and comments to my blog. It just continued to get better and better with each passing month.
I started connecting with a lot of bloggers and really learning from each of them. We started building some great relationships and supporting each other along the way.
Paying Tribute to 20 Loyal Bloggers
As the nature of the industry goes, a lot of those bloggers that I bonded with early on are no longer around. For whatever reason they chose to either abandon their blogs or delete them altogether.
Because there are so many new bloggers coming online every single day I’ve been fortunate enough to continue meeting even more awesome people.
Since most bloggers quit within their first six months I thought what better way to end this fabulous year then to pay tribute to those bloggers who have not only stuck around but have been loyal readers of my blog. Some have been here since the beginning of 2011 while some found me earlier this year.
I hope you’ll take the time to stop by these blogs if you don’t know them already and check out the information they share. I’ve really enjoyed reading their posts and of course the relationships we’ve built while on this journey together have been fantastic.
I’m truly honored to know then all and be able to call them a friend.

It looks like you and your blog evolved a lot in 2012. I didn’t comment on your too often this year, must admit, but I kept coming and reading your posts whenever I could. Your way of being reflects in the relationships and business you build. Just look how wonderful is the community you created here

I couldn’t leave you out Donna. I noticed that you actually stopped by my blog once in 2011 but we really teamed up this year. For that I’m thankful.
We definitely have a lot in common because we are both true givers. We love to actually take the time to engage with people and make them feel that they can achieve anything they put their minds too. I think everyone just needs that encouragement.
I’m so glad we did connect on the Google Hangouts and now we have a tight mastermind group of seven really awesome people. Together we’re going to make 2013 one to really remember.
I definitely agree, we just resonate with other bloggers and that is where the magic begins. Not everyone is as approachable but those who are, a match made in heaven.

Another year almost over, when I was a kid it seemed like the years dragged by, maybe because I didn’t like school!
I found you this year through Dan Sumner. I have been dropping by ever since. Don’t always comment but do look forward to what you have to say. Last Thursday the email never showed up…today it showed up, plus today’s email. Got me totally confused on that one?
I have visited a lot of those on your list and have been commenting on their posts, just like you taught me.
This year I am going to delve into psychology courses online and we shall see where that takes me on blogging, etc. Been talking about it for months, now I just got to start.
Will check out those on your list whom I have not visited before.

I know what you mean. When we’re kids we want to be older but now that we are, we want the years to slow the heck down.
I’m glad you decided to check me out from Dan’s blog. See, that’s how it all happens.
You are the third person who said my email from Thursday showed up today. I’m really confused as to what is going on because it was sent last Thursday. I even have proof of it in my back office. Now I’m really confused as to what’s going on. Guess I’ll be calling Aweber to find out what the heck happened with that.

I’ve met a lot of the lovely bloggers on your list (thanks to you!), but not all, and I’m very grateful to you for giving us these links. You’re so good at getting people together, Adrienne – you deserve a medal for it. If you were over here I’d recommend you for the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List!
I noticed a comment you left on someone else’s blog a few days ago, where you mentioned how sad you were about the number of bloggers you’d known with great potential who’d abandoned their blogs. I can understand how easily that happens, it’s really not an easy path, and I think one of the greatest things you offer is that support and encouragement – without which, who knows how many more of us might have given up?
It’s helpful, too, the way you share the struggles you had when you were starting out – it’s hard to believe, seeing how successful you are now, but very reassuring for those of us who are still just getting going with our blogs.
BTW, I entirely agree with Paul that you’ve got a book in you (or maybe two or three!) – so get writing, gal!

I’m so happy to know that you’ve met a lot of the bloggers through seeing them over here at my place. I love introducing people to each other because we all have our own unique style you know and we all aren’t sharing the same information. That’s good.
Yeah I know Sue, so many bloggers aren’t even around anymore. I had a dear dear friend who had an exceptional blog but last June she decided to just walk away from it. She said it didn’t give her that much pleasure anymore. I was so shocked because it was so popular. I know another young man I met early on who really shared some awesome content, I was a regular visitor. He had some personal issues that came up and his heart just wasn’t in it anymore. By the time he came around he had lost all of his readers. He tried getting it going again but wasn’t consistent. We know what happens when you aren’t consistent. It’s just happening to too many people Sue.
I think it’s important to share our struggles because we’re all just human. Without some of the support I’ve received though I would have never made it. That’s why none of us can really do this alone. We need the support and help of other people. I just enjoy being one of those that is in the position to help.
Ah thanks Sue and watch out for my first post of the year, you might be surprised.

I can also relate to what you say about the blogging community. When I set out building my blog I could never have imagined the relationships I’d end up building along the way.

It most definitely does, all your hard work does pay off.
I had always heard that you needed to build relationships with other bloggers but I didn’t realize the full impact of it Dean until I started meeting people myself. I finally got it and have had so many people help me along the way and how can you not want to give back to them and help them as well even if it’s only in some small way.
I’m glad you pasted the six month mark because that is saying a lot. As I mentioned in this post, not everyone makes it past that mark and stays for the long haul. I have no doubt that 2013 will be even better for you Dean.

Some of the names are familiar that you mention, and I know I have visited at least a couple of those sites before. I am usually better when it comes to the comment section. That’s where I usually recognize a familiar face. As for 2012 it came and went pretty fast. I swear the older I get the faster the years go by. It didn’t seem that way 10 years ago. I hope lucky 2013 is a good year for everyone.

. I have learned so much from you not only professionally but also personally. It has proven that distance is no longer a problem between two friends ( we are thousands of kilometers or miles away ).

Ashvini, you have been there to help me more times then I can count. How many people who you just meet online will actually do that for you? I know you are really busy as we all are but there are few bloggers who are as loyal as you. That is loyalty if I’ve ever seen it so you’ll definitely be on my list, always.

Hey Dee Ann,
Well you and Barry got knocked for a loop this year but that doesn’t mean you haven’t remained loyal to me. I consider you a dear friend and you’ve really been there for me this past year and the year before too. I hate that your recuperation took a whole lot longer then you had anticipated but it didn’t knock you down. You’re getting back up and things will start to fall back into place for you as well.
This is a really great list of people so if you need some new people to visit I would highly recommend them all.

Ah, don’t you worry about that at all Ilka… I’m always happy to see you and I know you prefer taking the month of December off. I really should consider doing something like that but I think I’d go nuts. I don’t have family coming in for the holidays and I don’t even cook for our gatherings so I’d be bored silly. I love your blog and have learnt so much from you. It’s one of the first places I visit for advice and to see what new important information I need to know every time you publish a post! And I really appreciate everything you do for not only me but everyone else too.
I’ve been enjoying the holidays too much over the past few days and have neglected lots of things online.
Back to routine and reality tonight though. The girls at the boarding school arrive back into the house tonight so my wife is on duty until 10.30pm.
It gives me some time to start catching up and true to your word, you’ve posted on schedule and I’m only sorry I’ve not come by sooner.
